H.E Mr. Nazari Meets with the President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia

His Excellency Mr. Ali Akbar Nazari, the accredited Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Cambodia, met with His Excellency Mr. Hun Sen, President of the Senate and Secretary-General of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), on Thursday, January 16, 2025.

During the meeting, Mr. Nazari referred to Mr. Hun Sen’s visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran in 2012 to attend the Non-Aligned Movement Summit and congratulated Cambodia on its achievements, particularly in establishing peace and stability and achieving 6% economic growth in 2024. He reaffirmed Iran’s full readiness to expand cooperation in all areas, including the export of medical and healthcare equipment, transfer of knowledge and technology in the fields of nanotechnology, aerospace, defense industries, and the export of engineering and technical services.

H.E Mr. Hun Sen praised Iran’s remarkable progress in technology and energy and stated that Iran is a country that can support Cambodia in strengthening its energy security. He expressed his support for the establishment of a Joint Economic Commission to enhance economic and trade cooperation and recommended that Iran expand its regional partnerships through mechanisms such as ASEAN and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).

Additionally, he conveyed his condolences and regret over the martyrdom of the late Iranian President Ayatollah Ebrahim Raisi and, at the conclusion of the meeting, wished health and well-being for the Supreme Leader of Iran and the President.
