The Visit of the Vice-President of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture to Vietnam

The delegation of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA), headed by Mr. Ghadir Ghiyafeh, Vice-President of ICCIMA, accompanied by Mr. SeyedMostafaMousavi, President of the Iran-Vietnam Joint Chamber of Commerce, and a number of businessmen andmembers of the Iran-Vietnam Joint Chamberof Commerce, arrived in Hanoi, Vietnam on December 2, 2024, and was welcomed at the airport by H.E. Nazari, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Commercial Attaché and Economic Expert of the Embassy. The delegation will stay in Hanoi from December 2 to 4, 2024, and then will travel to Ho Chi Minh City to visit the VietnamExpo 2024. The Iran-Vietnam Business Forum, attended by Vietnamese businessmen, was held in Hanoi on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.At the opening of the meeting, Mr. Ali Akbar Nazari, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Vietnam, Mr. Ghadir Ghiyafeh, Mr. SeyedMostafa Mousavi, and Mr. Chi,President of the Vietnam-Iran Business Council, delivered speeches. After the Opening Ceremony, businessmen in various working groups such as oil and gas and petrochemicals, steel, agriculture, fisheries, dried fruits, fruits and vegetables, pharmaceutical industries, home appliances, footwear, industrial machinery, and renewable energy discussed and exchanged views with their counterparts. In this meeting, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while emphasizing the stunning capabilities of the delegation members, recommended that Vietnamese companies seize this opportunity for cooperation because opportunities do not last forever and pass like clouds. He stated that the two nations have experienced a similar experience in terms of the pressure of sanctions and these sanctions that some countries impose on others in line with their own interests should not be allowed to hinder bilateral cooperation. If there is a will to cooperate, ways of cooperation will be found. On the afternoon of Tuesday, December 3, 2024, Mr. Ghadir Ghiyafeh, Vice-Presidentof the Iran Chamber of Commerce met with Mr. QuangVinh, Vice President of the Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).While congratulating his Vietnamese counterpart on the 61st anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he emphasized the need for the parties to become more familiar with each other's markets, exchange delegations, and attend specialized conferences. He alsoexpressed hope that the target of 2 billion dollars in bilateral trade would be achieved by strengthening interactions. Other programs of delegation included a meeting between Mr. SeyyedMostafaMousavi and Mr. Minh Chien, the Deputy Director General of the Vietnam Trade promotion Agency, as well as a visit to the EMTC factory in Hanoi. The delegation of the Chamber of Commerce left Hanoi for Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday night. In Ho Chi Minh City, in addition to visiting the Vietnam Expo 2024, a meeting with the President of the Ho Chi Minh Chamber of Commerce and a business forum with related unions and associations has been arranged.
