Iran and Cambodia expand cooperation on tourism according to a new bilateral agreement

On the sideline of the 26th General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Iran and Cambodia signed a tourism cooperation agreement aimed at expanding touristic  interactions and developing opportunities in the tourism markets of the Middle East and South-East Asia. The agreement was signed during a meeting between the Iranian Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts and his Cambodian cointer part, the Minister of Tourism of Cambodia. During the meeting, both sides emphasized expanding cooperation in tourist exchange, establishing new tourism routes, encouraging investment, and strengthening cultural interactions between the two Asian nations. Officials from both countries expressed hope that this Memorandum of Understanding will pave the way for the increased presence of Middle Eastern tourists in Cambodia, as well as the growth of Iran’s tourism markets in Southeast Asia. The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Vietnam, as the accredited Embassy to Cambodia, congratulates the signing of this tourism agreement and reaffirms its commitment for further effort to strengthening relations between the two Asian nations.
