His Excellency Mr. Ali Akbar Nazari, the accredited Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the Kingdom of Cambodia, met with His Excellency Mr. Sim Sokheng, Deputy Minister of Commerce of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on Monday, January 13, 2025, at the Ministry of Commerce. During the meeting, H.E Mr. Nazari emphasized the vast potential and numerous opportunities for developing cooperation due to the complementary nature of the two economies. He stressed the importance of expanding and enhancing bilateral trade cooperation and reaffirmed the readiness of Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Trade to establish a Joint Economic Commission. He proposed holding the first session of the commission in one of the capitals of the two countries to provide a structured framework for strengthening cooperation. H.E Mr. Sokheng stated that the administrative process for obtaining approval to establish the Joint Economic Commission has begun, and the Cambodian side will present a draft proposal for the commission’s establishment in the near future.
